The Catholic Association for Communication, SIGNIS NIGERIA, recently concluded her 2nd National Delegates Assembly. The conference which took place from the 29-31 of May was held at the JCT Guest House, National Pilgrimage and Eucharistic Adoration Centre, Elele Rivers State. The theme for this year’s assembly was: COMMUNICATION FOR THE PROMOTION OF JUSTICE, PEACE AND RECONCILIATION IN NIGERIA.
The event featured presentations, lectures and reports about communication activities across the nine Ecclesiastical Provinces in the Country. SIGNIS is an umbrella body housing the various groups and stakeholders involved in the business of communication in the Catholic Church.
These include (as it pertains to Nigeria), the Diocesan Directors of Communication, Catholic Actors and Entertainers Association of Nigeria (CAEAN), Catholic Media Petitioners Association of Nigeria (CAMPAN) and lecturers of Catholic communication in the institutions of higher learning.
Highlights of the visit included among other things, the visit to the National Museum of Charms and Amulets located within the Centre and the election of new national executives of the Association
